ASSOCIATION TSIMOKA

« Restoring nature, preserving the future of Madagascar »

Dedicated to a Madagascar where natural ecosystems are restored and local communities live in harmony with nature.

Welcome to Tsimoka, a grassroots association dedicated to safeguarding Madagascar’s rich biodiversity while fostering sustainable livelihoods for local communities. Our journey began with a small group of passionate young conservationists who envisioned a Madagascar where people live in harmony with nature.
Today, Tsimoka leads impactful conservation efforts in Madagascar’s dry forests, particularly in the Oronjia Protected Area (PA), applying innovative techniques that not only restore ecosystems but also improve the lives of those who depend on them.

Building on our success in the Oronjia PA and its areas of influence, Tsimoka is now looking to scale up its conservation efforts in other regions of Madagascar to broaden our collective impact.

Who we are

Tsimoka was established by young people who were concerned about nature conservation. In response to the major challenges facing environmental crises, the association has taken its responsibilities of providing sustainable solutions.

Fully aware of the alarming state of
Madagascar’s biodiversity, the association is committed to protecting the country’s natural resources, restoring areas degraded by human activity, and helping local communities in their daily lives.

Explore our work

Working closely with local communities to test dynamic agroforestry and ecological restoration techniques, we have sustained success in improving livelihoods and restoring water and soil quality. We are now scaling up our approach through partnerships to accelerate the restoration of ecological functions and improve the livelihoods of local communities.

Where we work

Based in the Oronjia Protected Area, we are expanding our work across northern Madagascar.

What we do

From agroforestry to ecological restoration we're leading the way to improve nature and livelihoods.
